Occupational Therapy Services | Gold Coast

Our paediatric occupational therapy services help children build essential skills for independence and confidence. By combining personalised assessments with evidence-based strategies, we identify each child’s strengths as well as areas for growth.

How Paediatric Occupational Therapy Services Can Help

Our team supports children in the following areas:

Emotional Regulation
Guiding children to explore, express, and manage their emotions with fun, research-backed activities that fit easily into daily life.

Sensory Processing
Empowering children to develop emotional awareness and self-regulation through playful, evidence-informed approaches integrated into daily experiences.

Fine Motor Skills
Building hand strength, fine motor control, and coordination to support confident participation in writing, drawing, and everyday self-care tasks.

Gross Motor Skills
Developing balance, strength, coordination, and core stability to enhance confidence and enjoyment in running, jumping, playground play, and sport.

Self-Care & Daily Routines
Building independence with dressing, feeding, toileting, sleep, and organisation — the everyday tasks that make home life smoother.

School Readiness & Learning Skills
Supporting children to focus, follow instructions, and build the posture and pencil control they need to start school with confidence.

Our Four Core Services

Our licensed Occupational Therapist, Sarah, works with children from birth to 12 years across the Gold Coast—bringing therapy into environments where they feel most confident. By combining evidence-based assessments with real-world observation, she builds a clear understanding of how your child engages and learns in daily activities.

Paediatric Occupational Therapy Assessments

LittleStrides takes the time to get to know your child through thorough assessments that capture their individual strengths and challenges. Using both standardised tools and everyday observations, we uncover how your child learns and participates in the world around them. Together with families, we turn these insights into realistic, purposeful goals and strategies that make a meaningful difference at home and beyond.

Assessments we may use:

  • Fine & Gross Motor Skills, Handwriting, Emotional Regulation
  • Self-Care Skills, Executive Functioning, Social Skills
  • Activities of Daily Living, Visual Perceptual Skills, Sensory Processing

Get Started Today

Getting started with LittleStrides OT is simple. Begin by contacting our team to discuss your child’s needs, goals, and any specific concerns. The process starts with an initial session—typically a 1–2 hour parent interview—where we explore your child’s early development, strengths, and priorities. During this time, we also discuss session frequency (usually weekly) and set meaningful goals together. As therapy begins, your child builds rapport and engages in fun, play-based activities designed to support progress. If an assessment is required, it’s completed during a session, and a detailed report is provided where funding permits. This clear, step-by-step approach ensures your child receives consistent, evidence-based support tailored to their individual needs.
