Comprehensive Paediatric Assessments

We believe every child is unique. Our detailed assessments help us understand your child’s individual profile across multiple developmental areas. We use standardised tools and clinical observation to identify strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth.

Paediatric Occupational Therapy Assessments

What makes our assessments different:

Fine & Motor Skills Assessment

What we evaluate:
Hand strength, dexterity, pencil grip, cutting skills, bilateral coordination, and precision tasks.

Why it matters:
Fine motor skills are essential for handwriting, self-care tasks, and classroom activities. Early identification of difficulties helps prevent academic and confidence challenges.

Assessment includes:
Standardised testing, functional task observation, and analysis of underlying components like muscle tone and joint stability.

Handwriting
Assessment

What we evaluate:
Letter formation, spacing, sizing, speed, legibility, pencil grip, and posture during writing tasks.

Why it matters:
Handwriting difficulties can impact academic performance and self-esteem. Understanding the root causes helps us target intervention effectively.

Assessment includes:
Formal handwriting samples, speed tests, copying tasks, and analysis of visual-motor integration skills.

Emotional Regulation Assessment

What we evaluate:
Self-regulation strategies, emotional responses to challenges, coping mechanisms, and behavioral patterns.

Why it matters:
Emotional regulation underpins learning, social relationships, and daily functioning. Understanding your child’s regulatory profile helps create supportive strategies.

Assessment includes:
Behavioral observations, parent/teacher questionnaires, and analysis of triggers and successful calming strategies.

Self-Care Skills
Assessment

What we evaluate:
Dressing, feeding, toileting, grooming, and age-appropriate independence in daily activities.

Why it matters:
Self-care independence builds confidence and prepares children for school and social situations.

Assessment includes:
Task analysis of daily routines, observation in natural settings, and identification of skill gaps and compensatory strategies.

Executive Functioning Assessment

What we evaluate:
Planning, organisation, working memory, flexible thinking, and task initiation and completion.

Why it matters:
Executive functioning skills are crucial for academic success and independent living. Early support can significantly improve outcomes.

Assessment includes:
Standardised assessments, parent/teacher rating scales, and observation of problem-solving approaches.

Social Skills
Assessment

What we evaluate:
Communication skills, peer interactions, understanding of social cues, and group participation.

Why it matters:
Social skills impact friendships, classroom participation, and overall wellbeing. Understanding social challenges helps create targeted support strategies.

Assessment includes:
Structured social observations, social stories assessment, and analysis of communication patterns.

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Assessment

What we evaluate:
Independence in self-care, household tasks, community skills, and age-appropriate responsibilities.

Why it matters:
ADL skills promote independence and confidence while reducing family stress around daily routines.

Assessment includes:
Checklist assessments, task observations, and environmental analysis for optimal independence.

Visual Perceptual Skills Assessment

What we evaluate:
Visual discrimination, visual memory, spatial relationships, and visual-motor integration.

Why it matters:
Visual perceptual skills underpin reading, writing, and math success. Identifying difficulties early prevents academic struggles.

Assessment includes:
Standardised visual perceptual testing, classroom task observation, and analysis of compensatory strategies.

Sensory Processing Assessment

What we evaluate:
Responses to touch, movement, sound, sight, taste, and smell across different environments and activities.

Why it matters:
Sensory processing differences can significantly impact learning, behavior, and daily participation. Understanding sensory needs helps create supportive environments.

Assessment includes:
Sensory profile questionnaires, environmental observations, and analysis of sensory seeking and avoiding behaviors.
